Waters

The Towy begins high in the Cambrian mountains, being joined by some sixty tributaries. The largest being the river Camddwr which runs into Llyn Brianne. Llyn Brianne is a regulatory reservoir built in 1972 which covers 530 acres of land. It supplements the Towy which is then abstracted some 40 miles downstream at Nantgaredig. Below the dam, the Towy descends steeply through Rhandirmwyn and Cilycwm before passing Llandovery and the beginning of the flood plain. She then levels off and runs through to Llanwrda, Llangadog and Llandeilo. Below Llandeilo, she runs through Dinefwr, Golden Grove and Dryslwyn before reaching Llanarthne, Llanegwad and Nantgaredig where she meets the Cothi. She then runs through to White Mill, Capel Dewi and Llangunnor before running past Aberwily and into Carmarthen town and finally to the estuary.

The club has many beats on the Towy, ranging from the Abermarlais beat at Llangadog, down to the Pump House just off the tide below Capel Dewi. The club also has three beats on one of the Towy's major tribuataries, the Cothi. In addition, the club has very good waters below Alltcarfan Bridge on the Teifi, including the famous gorge and a stretches on the River Gwendraeth near Kidwelly.
